Kenya continued

From Humane School near Kitale in Maili Saba, we travelled to Bungoma to meet Vincent Musiko who received us  well.  We were given the best meal in ages - ALL FRREE AND DELICIOUS.
Then on to meet a group of elderly organic farmers where a bee-hive ceremony was held.  Vincent had been given some land in which he could put bee-hives and these hives were handed over.  I had to bless the launch in a serious ceremony and was embarrassed to be honoured as a celebrity amongst the humble farmers.  I spoke to them of the magic and wonder of the bee and of the value of organic farming and introduced them to a concept of Bio-dynamic - supported by Vincent who had done a Biodynamic course in Agriculture at Emerson College.
We then went to James' farm where he grew many trees for distribution, herbal medicines, fish farm and with an enthusiastic approach to organic farming and compost.  He even broadcasts regularly about this passion of organic farming and compost- making and the cow is highly venerated.
Bernadette went down with Malaria at this point and early morning AFTER an interview with a remarkable woman who teaches handicapped children of every conceivable handicap we headed for Mission of Mercy for testing and medication for dear Bernadette - so photographic coverage at this point was not possible.
I headed out of town to a village where a forum of organic farmers were patiently waiting.  This began interesting conversations around herbal medicines and other products until I was whisked off to a Yam farm where the farmer was researching the best way to grow YAMS.  So he showed me a bed with fertilisers looking quite dead and dry and a bed with organic compost looking vibrant and enlivened.  This to prove to others that organic composting is a better way to go.  However he requested that any further advice on yam growing would be hugely appreciated. Then back to the Organic forum, mostly woman farmers where a 3 hour conversation and questions and attempted answers were considered.
By the way we were travelling on motor-bikes to venues at this point!!!!
SORRY NO PICS HERE.
