Jamie Community Seme district Kenya
We travelled to Seme near Kisumu to meet Joab. I was most amazed to find such a young beautiful man. Again on motor-bikes we headed out to Jamii Community where a group of handicapped youth with parents and other members were present. His beautiful girlfriend Elizabeth Mealy, from New York, warmly welcomed us. These two had met in Germany when studying Curative Education at Tennental. Joab wanted to bring his acquired knowledge back to kenya to his birth place and a group of young men, friends of Joab, got registration together so Joab could begin his own Camphill in Kenya in this community. After many interviews he chose 5 young people to begin his work. These people together with their parents came out to the project every Friday and participated in community building. For example - They all made together a beautiful chicken hock.We went for a fruitful walk all together, uniting the youth, parents, co-workers and us, the visitors. and later did Eurythmy which brought laughter and togetherness.
That night we slept peacefully on the farm with the beautiful cows and shining stars.
